CLUB VALUES & COMMITMENTS
The Charlotte Independence is more than a sports team dedicated to winning matches, we are a part of the Charlotte community, and as such, want to make Charlotte a better place to live through sport.
We do this, first and foremost, by providing a superior, affordable entertainment experience to our fans. But more than that, we look to connect with our fans off the pitch and in the communities we serve.
Making Charlotte a better place to live means making it a better place to live for everyone – not just those that have the time, interest and resources to come to games. We will make our community a better place to live through active support and involvement with worthy social causes – especially those causes that have special meaning to our players, our organization and our constituents.
We will prioritize action over words but realize that we have a platform we must use to promote the good in people and speak out against the bad. We will treat our respective constituencies with the respect that we ourselves would like to be afforded (the Golden Rule if you will) and will not tolerate disrespect within our community.
We must use our platform to address and speak out against all forms of racism, social injustice and bigotry.
We will work as a company to improve the diversity our workforce and actively seek minority candidates who are best-qualified to fill job opportunities on the field and in the front office. We will use our platform to provide economic opportunities for those in underserved communities and for minority-owned small businesses here in Charlotte.
We will, with our players and through our academy affiliation, continue to serve our community with food drives, coat drives, fundraising, and other opportunities to give back to those in need. We will partner with like-minded businesses to join us in these efforts.
We will work across our entire organization to provide access to our game and to provide opportunities for kids to be introduced to the beautiful game we call soccer.
We will use our sport to unite our community in a positive manner.
