
Charlotte (NC) — The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team is asking fans who attend the Saturday, October 13th match vs in-state rivals, North Carolina FC to bring new or gently used soccer equipment as a donation to the Henry Kalungi Foundation’s annual Christmas mission trip to Uganda. Donatable items include cleats, jerseys, shorts, socks, balls, keeper gloves and shin guards. Items will be collect at the Sportsplex at Matthews main gate starting at 6:30PM ET.

An Independence defender and Rock Hill, South Carolina resident, Henry Kalungi grew up in the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. Together with his wife Jacqueline, the Henry Kalungi Foundation makes an annual trip to the Katanga Slums to spread the love and joy surrounding the Christmas holiday.
