Soccer season is in full swing, and we know you all have questions. We even have a few questions ourselves, to be completely honest. Mailbag Monday's kicked off this week and we said you could ask us just about anything. You ask, we [try to] answer. Let's start with the team-specific questions and work our way down the wormhole, yeah?
1. The first question is from Matt aka @BoRoundNRound, and here it goes: "With so many new faces on and around the field this season, does the organization do anything to ensure that new players or coaches feel more at home amongst their colleagues and in a new city?"
Matt, nice question man. Transitioning to a new place is never easy, especially when it is thousands of miles across an ocean from your home. We value our people's emotional and mental health, and not having to worry about the little things is priority #1.
We caught up with our GM, Mike Jeffries to get all the hairy details. Mike and the staff personally help each new team member with the X's and O's of adulting. Airports, visas, bank accounts, social security numbers, and HOUSING. Did you know the players are provided housing at the same sweet apartment complex?
Mike also explained that we have a designated Augie. Augie is our up close and personal Operations Manager who helps each player make sure they know where to go when they need stuff. We can't forget the annual party at the Jeffries residence for players to come together and just have a good ole time.
The real game changer in all of this is Enzo Martinez. Whether at practice, in the locker room, or required appearances this guy is always the first to make sure the new guys are welcomed and feel at home as part of the Charlotte Independence. Long story short, absolutely.
2. Will you guys please just sign @jas_bai!? Let him water grass or something.
Jason, while a young talented and extremely good looking man, might not be able to hang with the high pressure and tedious work of maintaining a USL Soccer field. Sorry @Jas_bai
3. Question three and four both come from @jas_bai, which furthered our stance for why we are unable to offer him a position on the team. "I recently replaced the spray hose on my kitchen sink because it was leaking and it had a collet connection that was tough to figure out as it connected way in the back behind the garbage disposal, but I didn't know it needed a weight on the hose to self contract, help?"
You've come to the right place with this question, and we know exactly where you went wrong. When you take the Charlotte Independence, for example, each individual player trains for most of his life in order to play on the team. He learns strategy, conditioning, and other specific skills to help the team compete at a high level. We have a google screenshot of a few people in the area that have been trained specifically for this very moment. PLEASE keep us posted on the progression.

4. Last but definitely not least: "Which of the purge movies is your fav?"
This is definitely a tough question, but we've got to go with The Purge. While a good prequel is commendable, how many different possible scenarios will they come up with in order to make a few [hundred] million dollars? At what point will it all get old? Surprisingly each story line has been sufficiently unique to hold it's own weight, and they actually keep making more and more money. STILL what would The First Purge be, without The Purge? Would it even exist? Remember as they make more, they spend more on writers, editors, effects, costumes…so quality aside The Purge will always be #1 in our hearts.
Thanks for all of your wonderful inquisitions. We promised to answer anything, and we're going to stick to it. Use those thinking caps and prepare your hearts for the NEXT Mailbag Monday.
