Charlotte (NC) — The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team has received midfielder Isaac Angking on loan from Major League Soccer (MLS) side, New England Revolution for the remainder of the USL Championship season. Per the agreement, New England has the right to recall the loan at any point.
Angking, 19, is a product of the Revolution Academy who was signed as a Homegrown Player in January 2018. He made his MLS debut on Sept. 5, 2018 at New York City FC. Having previously represented the United States with the U-14, U-15, U-17, and U-19 teams, Angking was called up to the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team roster by Head Coach Tab Ramos for the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship last October.
Angking will be available for selection as the Independence continue in USL Championship action on Saturday, August 3rd as Louisville City FC visits the Sportsplex at Matthews. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET and the game is presented by Great Clips. Fans will be treated royally with complementary blue hair dying. Tickets are now on sale.
