
Charlotte (NC) — The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team announced goalkeeper Brandon Barnes has joined the 2019 roster on loan for USL League One side Forward Madision FC. Additionally, the Independence have mutually parted ways with goalkeeper Curtis Anderson.
Barnes is a Cary, Illinois native who earned a contract with Forward Madison after trialing with the team ahead of the season opener. Prior to joining Madison for the team’s inaugural League One season, the 24-year-old goalkeeper made four stars for USL Championship side Richmond Kickers. Barnes played collegiately for Seton Hall and Bradley University.
Goalkeeper Curtis Anderson made nine starts and 26 saves for the Independence in USL Championship games this season. The Charlotte Independence wish Curtis the best of luck in his next endeavors.
