New Jersey — The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team fell to USL Championship Eastern Conference leaders New York Red Bulls II on Friday night at MSU Soccer Park on Friday night.
A goal by Red Bulls forward Mathias Jørgensen in the 15th minute was enough to give the home side the halftime lead. The final goal of the match was scored by Jared Stroud in the 83rd minute.
The Independence will continue in USL Championship action this Saturday, September 21st versus the Swope Park Rangers at the Sportsplex at Matthews presented by Grace O’Malley’s. The Independence will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night presented by Accuvision with exciting giveaways. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET.
